Well, I can't believe I got three cards done today, pretty gosh darn fun. I just love the sketches from Sweet Sketch Wed, and this one is no different, great sketch and I of course did it as a valentine's card, I think I am ready for Valentine's day. I have had the king of hearts card for sometime now and thought it would be cute on this sketch.

The second card is for the challenge at 365 cards, there challenge today was "teen queen" I don't have much in the way of "teen" stuff but I thought these went together rather well.

The 3rd card is for Flutterby Wed, and Scrappy Frogs challenge blog, at Flutterby the challenge was to use 3 hearts along with an angel, fairy, or butterfly, and Scrappy Frogs challenge was "Valentine's" so that about covers it for today

Good afternoon I would tell you the temperature here, but I won't be mean :)

OK I'll just show you what I made for today, annnnd I am not squeaking these in under the wire.

Flutter By Wednesday had an open challenge this week meaning that we could do what we wanted as long as it has a butterfly, angel, or fairy on it, check, check (I have 2)

Simon Says has the challenge of "love is in the air" this time of year it is a perfect challenge to get those valentines done, I found these little doilies at Michale's and just think they are the cutest, ever. The talented Arlana has another great sketch for us to take inspiration from at Sweet Sketch Wed, and yes I am kissing up a bit because I used hearts instead of circles, but I am hoping it will count, if not I hope she will tell me, maybe. See, I told you it was a great sketch

Sketches a plenty................

Finally I have time to post these babies there are 2 sketches that I did cards for, and I do believe that these are two of my all time favorites. Mojo Monday, and Sweet Sketch Wednesday out did themselves, i really suggest that you check out those sites to see what other people of done....AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First up is Sweet Sketch Wed I hope to get this in just in time, before the new sketch comes out tomorrow, really!!!!!!check out the blog. Funny thing I found a paper stack I forgot I had "rustique" from DCWV ( love them) and I remember why I bought it!!!!!!!! LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!

I am a little more up to date with MOJO monday, in the fact that the sketch just came out yesterday, I really think it is a fun one, it took a little time to do all those flowers but I like them :) I need to go back with a paint brush of glue and tip all the edges with glitter because the whites of the sides are showing, Yes they are tighty whities, so to speak. Oh yes there was the option of doing a round or square card, I took the easy way out!!!

Well it is already Tuesday the 25th of January, yipes time flies. Today at 365 cards the challenge is "feeling sassy" I thought this sentiment was rather sassy, I can't wait to give it to a friend for their birthday, he he!!!

I go a new stamp at Michael's the other day and thought it was perfect to use to do a card for Flutterby Wed. I am still trying to figure out how to colour the butterfly I used sukura glitter pens for this one, it is OK but I wish it were better, I'll have to stew on that.

The Challenge at Mojo Monday was this wonderful sketch, I thought it was a great one, and will keep it around to do again. I just love the colour combo, it is so happy and springy.

It is Friday, and in N. California it is kinds warmish, sweet. I just love the HM images they are just the cutest and this is one that I borrowed from a friend, it is just the sweetest, at House Mouse and Friends the challenge this time is embossing one of my favorite embossing folders is the heart dots it is so classy, at least I think so. Moving on to the next challenge at 365 cards the challenge this week has been "word of the day" well today's word was love, and this image to me says love, if not at least I LOVE the stamp, does that count?

A day late......yet filled with Bliss

I know the title was stupid to me, too, I am no poet. I finally had a chance to sit down and make a card, and I thought I would play with the sketch from Sweet Sketch Wed, I do believe I am going to Have to do those wonderful sketches square like they are shown, because I love the sketch, the card not so much, my bad. The other challenge that this is for is 365 cards, this week Pam is having inspiration week and each day we get a different word to depict on our card and yesterdays word was Bliss (remember I am a day late) and obviously to me Bliss means relaxing in the sun on a beautiful day aaaahhhhhhhhhhhh I can feel it now.

I hope everyone is having a great week and don't forget tomorrow is FRIDAY, yippppeeeee!! Whatever I have no plans for the weekend :(

Get well, cards and quilt......

Just before Christmas one of my quilting buddies was diagnosed with uterine cancer, and according to the doctor it was a rather aggressive type. After Christmas she had surgery, and had a hysterectomy, she goes in the 1st of Feb for a report on the lab tests, but the doctors felt good after the surgery, yea!!!
Our quilt group. Twisted Thimbles put together a quilt for her, with an Asian theme not all the blocks are the same but here are some pictures of 3 of the blocks that myself and another gal did. After it was put together I was asked to make a card, so I just had to follow the Asian theme and I came up with this card, using Japanese and handmade papers.

I was inspired by another wonderful sketch today, this one is from Mojo Monday the blog, it really got my mojo going, yea!!! I just love that bow at the bottom if you are doing the challenge you don't have to put a bow on the card, but I just love the way it looks.

The other challenge this card is for is the one at 365 cards, today Pam's challenge to us was "elegant" ,or making our card elegant in the way we perceive. It is still really cold here in N. Cal but I keep hearing that I am not as cold as some, I would be whining all over if it were any colder.

Wow!!! did I enjoy making this card, I started with the Super Sketchy Sunday (say that fast) Sketch from 365 cards. I really love the images of Easter, and I thought this sketch would fit that theme, so I just couldn't resist turning this into a pretty little egg. I had such a good time making this it reminded me of how much fun this card making thing is, I may have to do a couple more similar to this. The second challenge I did this for was a Flutter By Wed it was an anything goes challenge as long as it had a butterfly, fairy, or angel on it, and mine does have a little butterfly under the flowers. Have a great start to a new week, I hope it is warmer where you are than it is here in N. California, dang its cold.

Seriously I am cold, but it is a great day to stay inside and make cards, although I do still need to take down my Christmas decor, ah it will be there tomorrow.........and even the day after that :)

The challenges at Simon Says and House Mouse & Friends was the same "New Beginnings" it finally got me to use this ever so darling HM stamp, thank so much Mom for getting it for me, I just love it and I think the bubbles are fun.

Sweet Sketch Wednesday, as usual, has the greatest sketch, so I gave that a try, I think it looks better in person I always forget that those Dufex stickers do not photograph well, but they are just sooooo pretty.

How do you girls do it, post cards almost everyday and keep up with life, I am really not a multitasker.

Tuesday night my crafty friend Lisa was decorating a little "blank" box, and it turned out so pretty I just loved the papers she used so she was "the best" and let me have the scraps, yea Lisa. Today I realized I needed to make a birthday card, so I went to Sweet Sketch Wed to check out this weeks sketch, and of course it was great, and then I thought instead of working up a colour scheme I would just use those wonderful papers that Lisa gave me, I had enough to make 2 cards, I am forever needing a birthday card at the last minute so now I have one in reserve. I also did this card for Flutterby Wed, notice the "butterfly" :).

Then I started looking at the other challenge sites and saw this great challenge from Cute Card Thursday, which was challenge 125 "treemendous", I just love trees and this stamp in particular so I just had to use it.

3 shades of Blue is what Pam at 365 cards asked for today, and I think this card covers the blue, I was excited about the image because it was a clear stamp set for only 2 dollars and this little car, I think, is worth that alone. Well, this is a shock I am posting again for the second time in one week, yea.

At 365 cards the challenges are all colours this week day 120 (Monday) is Green, and today day 121 is red, Pam said we can do whatever layout we want but we need to use at least 3 shades of the colour. Recently I have noticed my "man" cards are very slim pickin's if I need a card in a hurry so for the "Green" day (not the singing group) I did this golf card, and for the "Red" card I did an "Asian" themed thank you card. On the thank you card I used perlex powders on my image, I thought it would be nice and soft compared to embossing powders, I do like the way that effect works.

At 2S4U, it is a sketch challenge, I am not thrilled with this card, but every other time I look at it I like it (I'll stop looking).

Like the rest of you I have been a little busy lately, and not feeling any creativity, well this week I worked on getting the Mojo back, because I HAD to make a card for our brother-in-law, so I sucked it up and put glue and tape to paper.

My first card is for the sweet people at Sweet Sketch Wed, I didn't do great with the sketch, but I'm still working on that creativity thing. What is fun is that this goes for the Cute Card Thursday Challenge, also, the challenge this week is "reuse" and luckily this ribbon went with the card and it came from a friends candy box, once she knew I loved the satiny type ribbons she has been passing them all onto me, yippppeeee!!!!

This card is for the bil's birthday, yes he is a hunter, but I like him anyway. It was fun making the boots and the boot strings and I popped up the top boot so this would be a candidate for the ABC challenge, the challenge there is X-is for extra deminsion.

Well I hope to be a little more regular in my posting (no laxative jokes please) and try to amp up my mojo.

Do the decade..........

I know it has been awhile, wow I hate the fact that life interrupts my card making and blogging, it just doesn't seem right, anyway today at 365 cards the challenge is "do the decade" and Pam has chosen the 20's for us, that is 1920 this isn't futuristic :) . Gloria was the DTM that gave us our inspiration and I have to say I went the same route she did, it isn't as if she hasn't ever cheated or anything and I am telling you I kinda, sorta copied her, my card does use all Graphic 45 papers, I just love them, and I put real antique buttons on the card, Gloria didn't do that :p

Since I finished all the bluebirds (see previoius post) I made the pattern into a penguin and thought I would throw a picture up of the little guy, and I made one more blue bird but he is bigger than the rest of them. Have a wonderful week, and thanks for flying by.

Finally I finished 41 of these cute little stuffed bluebirds. A friend of mine works for a publishing company and they are coming out with this book called "little birds" and want to have some made up birds to distribute at the upcoming "Spring Market" that they are going to.

You have to admit they are darn stinkin' cute.

A friend did help with some but because her hubs smokes she could only work on them at breaks and lunch while at work, and a couple of get togethers. I think they turned out rather cute, but took waaayyyyy longer than I thought about 2 hours each, yikes, it doesn't sound bad until you have to make 40 (I made and extra).

Now I am flying off to deliver these little beauties, and then pick up all the felt and fiber fill scraps around the house.

Hi all I have been working on 40, yes 40 little stuffed bluebirds, I'll share when they are done, they are very cute, but because of the little twitters I haven't had much time to play with my card making but here are a couple.

At Flutter by Wed the challenge was to " use sparkle on your creation" well it is Butterfly Wed, so I chose to have a sparkly butterfly.

At Sweet Sketch Wed it was another Sweet Sketch, and of course I couldn't resist using this little HM stamp, awwwww he is so cute.

When i looked at today's challenge for 365 cards, day 36, I thought wow Pam did this just for me, well I know she didn't but it was fun. The challenge was to use the drawing of a "quilt" block that Pam had, and put it on a card. I used papers from Basic Gray........love them, and made it simple with a fancy bow the sentiment, which is hard to see it "You're sew special" awwwww!!!

The next challenge is for both ABC Challenge and 365 Cards challenge, ABC is already back to R and on this challenge R stands for Red, done. The challenge for 365 cards, day 32 is

Day 32 - Recipe Card
Nope, not a Card Recipe, but an actual Recipe Card.

I did the same style card that Vickie did, and that was to make my card a recipe holder, that way it can be used for a gift card, also.

The last card I have for today is for Day 35 "Super Sketchy Sunday" at 365 cards. I was out and about one day and saw this wonderful bookmark advertising something for the Farm Bureau in our area and the picture was so wonderful I just had to use it on a card, I just think it is very lemony fresh :)

Oh, I had so much fun doing the challenge today at 365 cards, I got to use one of the cutest stamps ever, thanks Mom, those mouse stamps are way to cute. So what was the challenge you ask well day 33 at 365 is "Whip Stitch " Pam wanted us to whip stitch 3 sides of our card, at first I wasn't thrilled with this idea, but I thought if I used thin enough thread it wouldn't over power the corners, you just have to love those mice, at least on the card.

This is the card for the challenges at Crafty creations and 365 cards. At crafty creations challenge #61 was anything goes, so I chose a favorite stamp, colour and butterfly and came up with this little card. This card also is for the Challenge day 30 at 365 cards the challenge was "In Pieces" this is what Pam said "Here's the challenge: Use an image on the outside of your card, then use it again on the inside but don't use it in the exact same way" So I added a little on the inside of this card, kinda
cute.

Last for today is the challenge at Sweet Sketch Wed, Arlana did another great sketch and with is what I did with it.

Day 31........what??

You know Pam at 365 cards, has had challenges and then she has had CHAllenges, but this one is a CHALLENGE, I couldn't wrap my
brain around this one till late last night, let me tell you what she wanted
"Day 31 - All Mixed Up
Think in thirds on this one -Here's the challenge:Take an image (digi, stamp, etc.) and break it down into thirds - 1/3 no color, 1/3 patterned paper, 1/3 hand colored (markers, colored pencils, chalks, paint, etc.).
It doesn't have to be in perfect thirds, just broken down into three parts."
I was so confused but after reading the challenge more than once I think I finally got it, and this is what I came up with, and I thought i would get this challenge in on the day it was posted, buttttt Noooooo!!!! thanks Pam :)

Well here I am again, I know I can't believe it either, but yea. My pictures turned out a little dark, at least on my monitor, I hope yours presents them better.

To start with today, yea, did I mention there were a few, well there are so just sit back and relax :) , it is a sketch challenge from 365 cards for day 21, i am not thrilled with it, but at least it looks better in person than it does on my screen.

Next is the challenge for 365 cards day 28 " a certain sentiment" Pam asked us to use "hang in there" on a card, I couldn't think of anything better than this little mouse hanging on for dear life.

The challenge this week for House Mouse Monday is Easter, my friend Beate lent me this stamp and I just couldn't resist using it for Easter, they aren't traditional Easter colours, but I thought they went perfect with the image.

Yes, I really like this one..............alright, I still haven't figured out how to delete a picture after I have posted it.

This is for a day 28 at 365 cards, it is a sketch challenge, when I see a star I tend to think of 4th of July, it is a little strange this time of year, but maybe I'll be ahead in July.

This final card is for challenge day 19 at 365 cards, the challenge was to "Imagine This, Cotton" well all I could come up with was this little "cottontail" rabbit, and that is a cotton ball for his "tail".

You may have guessed that I am trying to catch up to the daily challenges at 365 cards, I'm not sure I can do it, but will give it the old college try. Thanks for checking in and have a great day, I hope all of you on the east coast are keeping your feet dry.

WOW........2 in one week

Good Monday morning all, i was playing over the weekend but the owner of the camera was out of town with the camera so I wasn't able to post until today.

The first card is for Sweet Sketch Wed, and there sketch #42, I am having problems with google so I can't copy the sketch photo to show you, but this is a good excuse to check out there blog :) the first card also covers Day 27 at 365 cards, the challenge was "I'm touched" we were to use at least 8 elements and all those elements much over lap with at least 2 others, ouch. I hope you can see it but the middle flower is made from candy wrappers and there are 7 of those, you have no idea what I went through to get those wrappers (yummmm!!!) so I hope you enjoy it ;) and the ribbon touches the circle and a butterfly.

Next was the challenge for Day 24 at 365 Cards and the challenge was to use at least 10 different patterned papers on your card, I used a Basic Grey stack so it all goes together and I don't think it looks too discombobulated. This card, also covers the challenge at Cute Card Thursday where the challenge was "dimensions" it is hard to tell but the lady is popped up, i forgot to take a side shot, ooppps! and last but not least this card is for ABC Challenge which was "Q for quotation" actually both cards could cover that one.

Yes I did finally make a couple of new cards, they are both for 365 Cards and they are for today and yesterday's challenge........I know I shocked myself.

Day 25.. Is a DYI challenge, Pam asked us to glitter brads and or pearls, I decided to glitter the brads.

Day 26.....Is a recipe day and the recipe was 5x5 card: 3 circles: 2 squares: 1 ribbon; sentiment of your choice, at first I thought I wouldn't be able to come up with anything but i finally did.

Long Time

It has been a long time since my last post and finally I had time to get a couple of cards done, whew! I have been working on quilting a wall hanging that will be in our quilt show this weekend, and I am still not done, yikes!

This is how far behind I am this first card is for DAY 1 of 365 cards new year, ouch! the challenge was a colour scheme challenge and the colours were Teal, Brown, White, Rust and Kraft, I really had a tough time with this one and I am not really thrilled with the results, but this is what I have.

This next card is for day 13 at 365 cards and the challenge was "a whole new Dimension" what I did was pop-up one of the Easter eggs, this card also is based on the sketch challenge at House Mouse Monday....awwww you just have to love the little bunny.

I hope you all are having a good weekend, i was glad today that I got to play with 2 challenges, one was the allsorts challenge blog, there challenge was to make a mothers day card.

Then I did the challenge at 365 cards and they are continuing with signature styles of the DT members and today was Vicky's style card, Pam said " Your card should embody this style of soft colors and clean lines" so I went with that criteria and as far as the specific scraplift I copied Vicky's pink polka dot ribbon.

Bring out the boat it is raining buckets here, yikes, but I can stay indoors and play :) and we need the rain. Today at 365 cards they are continuing DT's style week, today the style was Sophie's she has a very simple and clean style.......I really liked the card that she did so I lifted the design almost completely.......she went with circles I went with hearts.

Lets just get to it, I have nothing witty or clever to say ;) and it is almost time for American Idol. First up is the challenge card for Flutter by Wednesday it was an open challenge but as usual it needed to have a butterfly, fairy, or an angel on it. I love purple and thought I would do a monochromatic colour scheme, not the best but sometimes what you have in your mind will not filter out.

Next is the card for Allsorts challenge blog, and for Cute Card Thursday. Allsorts challenge was to use a Tag, Ticket, or Label..........done! and at Cute Card Thursday the challenge was called Ribbon-tastic so I pretty much made the ribbon the center of attention......done!

Simon Says had a fun challenge, that really challenged me I don't do "vintage" very well and the challenge was Vintage with Flowers, luckily I had this sticker with the hat on it that looks a little vintagy (that isn't a word is it?)

Two Lifts and a sketch

I know crazy title for post but hey I ain't no writer.

This week at 365 cards, as you may know by now Pam is having each DT member do a card representative (big word) of there style, and we are to portray there style in a card, and then put one element from there card on ours.........got it?

The first card is inspired by Kristie....and as you can see I put a button on my card, like she did, also just to be clear the card on the left that is a thank you card is Kristie's

this card is also done based on the sketch at Sweet sketch Wednesday, yea a twofer.

The second card is inspired by Amy..... and I copied her and put a pinwheel on mine, love the Pinwheel, Amy , and doubled the buttons for the center of the wheel. Just to be clear Amy's is the one on the left done in the round.

Wow, This is 365 cards Tuesday challenge, and what do you know it is still Tuesday and I am posting mine.

Like my last post said, at 365 cards this week each of the DT is doing a card with there style and we are supposed to represent that in our card and scrap lift one thing from there card......so today it is Audrey's turn and her style Fresh, Bold, and Vibrant, this card is Bold and Fresh but not so sure about Vibrant, but it is as close as I get. What did I scrap lift you ask, you know you did I heard you, I put sheet music on my card luckily I put it on in the right direction, I almost put it on upside down........oops!!

N California is a bit gloomy today, but we need the rain so I guess I'll just have to stay inside and make cards.

It is the last week of the year for 365 cards, and this week Pam is asking each of her design team to make a card that is in there signature style, and then we are to make a card reflecting there style and scrap lift an element from there card. So today, opps!! yesterdays, DT member that was represented is Gloria, yes that Gloria (cheater ;) she did an awesome, awesome card that had a wonderful vintage feel to it, so I did my best, i don't know if I per se scrap lifted one element specifically but I liked the way Gloria's card had the elements offset from each other and not all squared up. I just want to say that the 3 buttons are actually antique, they had a blue tinge to them that was reflected in the images so I just had to use them.

Gloria's card is the manly card which is just FABU!!

Another week has zipped by, real fast. Thank you to those of who left comments on my last post about the rose wall hanging this afternoon I will put the borders on and I'll post a picture. This week at 365 cards all the challenges have been sketches, and I am just a weeeeee bit behind because I am showing Monday's sketch ooops ;) the sketch was done this time by one of the DT members, Gloria because Gloria cheats A LOT I could have too, but I tried not to. 365 cards is getting sooo close to the end of the 365 days that you should check out the challenge blog and see all the great work the DT is doing there.

At Project Tuesday, see I told you I am behind, the challenge was to do a Joy fold card, I found the instructions on Splitcoast Stampers, and it is a fun little card and there directions are sooooo easy to follow, I did.

Still behind, the last card is the Sweet sketch Wednesday challenge, the sketches there are so fun, and the other totally cool thing about them, is almost all of there design team leaves comments......so for sure you will get comments, they are the bomb :).

Well I must get back and do some more cards so I can catch up a bit more, oh but first I MUST put the borders on the wall hanging.

Good evening my little heart throbs........I have 3 cards tonight that cover 6 challenges, I know I was amazed as well, I used two new punches, OK I borrowed them from Mom, they are new to me. The punches are from MS so pretty, heart, and heart border, thanks Mom. I think I'll get started, I know you aren't going to read this anyway so I COULD just prattle one, and on, an.......oh you know.

I hope everyone enjoyed Superbowl Sunday in whatever way you chose to enjoy it, I sat with my husband and appliqued, and got a good chunk done on an owl for my "swamp" wall hanging, I thought the owl was perfect to work on because "whooo dat" get it? he.

I thought I would play today at 2S4U because the sketch looked extra fun, and I combined it with the challenge at 365 cards which was a Ad challenge. The picture for the 365 challenge was a pretty picture but I really went with the colours I saw, so that is how I interpreted it, and I am in love with this group of Basic Grey papers.

I know you thought I wasn't playing any more, well to bad, I am, it is just that posting takes so long :( so Finally I have some time to post these babies. I know I maybe boring everyone with the house mouse stamps, trust me I'm trying to use others, but they are just soooo darn cute, so today I only have a couple :)

?????????? my question for all you talented artists is have you used both Copic and pencils with gamsol, and if so which to you prefer????????????? just a question, I love my prismacolours with gamsol, but wonder if I could get a better finished piece with Copics?

Where start the post, I know, at Sweet Sketch Wed the sketch was really fun this week, although I am not thrilled with what I did with it, if anyone has a suggestion please let me know, just don't be cruel.

The House Mouse challenge this week is "valentines" my friend Beate let me stamp off this wonderful image with her HM stamp, I just think it is so cute, thanks Beate you are the bomb!!Crafty Creations and Flutterby Wed made it easy for me CC wanted "wings" on the project and FW was an open challenge, but it must have a butterfly, fairy, or angel on it.......I mean really how easy and fun are those 2 challenges?Finally to complete my "long post" I did 2 challenges from 365 cards today, for days 341, and 342, it is really getting close to the end of their year, and some people have done them all, or are trying to catch up, wow!...................I am not one of them :)

Day 342 "that is familiar" Pam asked that we put a little something on the inside that matches the outside.

Day 341 "Substitution" use hearts in the place where flowers should go.

Wow, it seems like yesterday that I was doing cards for Christmas, and now we are in February and the cards are all about Hearts and Flowers, so that is what I will do.

I know no one asked, thanks so much :( but CHA super show, and the trade show was fun and hard work, first of all it took us 12 hours to get to Anaheim, we had rain, snow, hail, and sunshine, the sunshine made for a couple of beautiful rainbows, so that was nice. We got in late on Wed night and had to be up early to unload the van and set of Lisa's consumer booth, now I knew that was going to be hard, but really, I mean REALLY, it was hard, argh, but by the end of Thursday night the van was unloaded and the booth just about good to go. Man, my feet were throbbing and my back was telling me if I picked up one more box I'd regret it, I hate being at the age when your body threatens you, damn.

On Friday I went into the trade show area and helped C&T publishing set up there booth, did I mention it was 8 in the AM, if you know me you know that was not a cute picture. Finally on Friday afternoon I had a chance to peek at the consumer show, there was some great stuff and a lot of wonderful samples, real fun.

Sat was super tough I helped finish up the C&T booth and then..............wait for it.............had to help Lisa dismantle her booth, well I will tell you that at 10 pm I could barely crawl off the bed to let the room service dude in with our dinner, it was pretty funny, kinda.

Ah Sunday a day to lurk around the Trade Show, I loved watching the demo's and looking at the new stuff that will be coming out in March......there are some cool things I can't wait for, and some fun new stamps. I will admit one thing I got a peek at the model Kathy Ireland who is taller and prettier in person, just beautiful.....bitch (and I mean that in the most nicest way, OK I'm jealous) :)

Monday I lurked the trade show for a few hours and then flew home sleeping the whole way, did I mention being tired.

I know this missive sounds like complaining, but it isn't, it was a lot of fun and seeing what the vendors go through to set up these events, is just amazing. I admire so much the people that make there living doing consumer shows, they have a lot of stamina.

There was one designer from Ranger that I wanted to share, she is a hoot, and very talented her name is Dyan and here is her web address, and her blog address, she has some great video tutorials on her web.

OK now for the card of the day, at 365 cards the challenge was a shape up challenge, and the shape was a heart, and at Simon says it was a photo challenge and the photo was of a big bouquet of roses, so I think this works well for both.

Ok, I know I am so late with all three of these challenges, sorry:

At Crafty Creations this week the challenge was to use black and white with a splash of colour, I know red and black is over done, but I love these dufex stickers and thought this would work together. I did 2 pictures because the bg of the sticker is very shiny.

Yesterday at 365 cards day 317 the challenge was Crazy 8........use 8 different colours on a card...I think I did on this one, and at Flutter by Wed the theme of the challenge was new, to me spring is a renewal, and that is a new stamp for me, so I thought that would do.

Good afternoon, today I have 2 cards that accomplish the challenges at 5 blogs, wow, and it was fun:

First off at 365 cards, yesterday the challenge was to use Metal, so I used that little leaf on the lower left of the HM card, also on the House Mouse card I did "L is for Layering" from ABC challenge I even layered the ribbons yea me :) my mom gave me the cute little HM stamp and that is "New" which covers the challenge at Cute Card Thursday.

Now I know you are wondering "but Glenna where is your 365 card for today" well I'll tell you, you know I love that Pam and all her DT and devotees, but really today's challenge "a reflection" my brain started whirling around, I got light headed and dizzy, the room started going black, and then I said "hey" I don't have to do it...............so I didn't!!!!! I know I should challenge myself, well I'm challenging my self to diet for the new year so THAT is all I am going to challenge myself with right now :) If you get a chance look at the 365 cards blog for today to see what all the "good" girls did, way cool!!

The second card uses the sketch from Sweet Sketch Wed, I finally did one of the sketches from them, before Tuesday, this card is also for the Lilly of the Valley challenge they asked us to make a "Thank You" card.

I am OK with both these cards but I still don't understand why one is so dark and one is lighter, I used the same camera and lighting for both cards, bummer dude.

Wow it is already the 5th of 2010, I wonder if this year will speed by like last year, hold on to your granny panties, because it probably will.

Today at 365 cards the challenge was "find a substitute" and that was to find a picture in place of the word, or something like that........lol! I did this valentiny card using this weeks sketch from 2S4U, I haven't played there is a while so I thought I would see what they were up to.

I am trying to get my creative mojo going, but I spent to much time doing holiday stuff, and some quilting, and I need to get back into the "card making" state of mind. I can't wait to be able to take my pictures outside these are turning out WAAAAY to dark.

Good morning, it is cold and foggy here in N. California, it feels christmasy (if that is a word). I love the Sketches at Sweet sketch Wednesday so I had to use there sketch so that is the sketch I used, and at Pink Elephant the challenge was "winter/Christmas" I wish this wasn't so shiny so it photographed better, but I wanted to do a card that was all about winter, to me, I think I came close. Have a wonderful weekend, only one more week before the big day.....yikes!!

Well finally I had some time to play with a few challenges, I still have some things to do so let me get to the challenges:

At 365 cards on Monday the challenge was Musical Monday Pam let us choose a Holiday song that inspired us to make a card, one of my favorites is Let it snow, actually I just had a stamp that said that :).

Today at 365 cards the challenge was "ad inspired" Amy came up with this ad, it is so pretty, and this is the card it inspired:

At Simon Says the challenge this week was to use "merry Christmas" on a card, so I did, and at Crafty Creations the challenge was to use Traditional X-mas Colours, red, green, gold. That is it for today I hope you all ready for next Friday and enjoying your holiday season.

I haven't posted in a week, yikes, but I have been having fun getting ready for T-day, and updating the bedding and window treatments in the master BR (which I should have done a lonnng time ago). I just love the sketches at Sweet Sketch Wed, so I just had to take some time to play, plus I had to use this cutest little HM stamp, I love it, my mom, THANKS MOM, bought a number of cute cute HM stamps and I love each of them, and it was fun to use with this sketch.

It actually was a decent Monday I got a few house chores done, and made a couple of cards, I did cards for the last 2 days at 365 cards, and a sketch card from Sweet Sketch Wed , both such fun challenge sites, check them out!!!
At 365 cards yesterday was Super Sketchy Sunday, and today was a recipe challenge 1st is the sketch challenge, it is rather a fun and whimsical sketch and I have had these little star stickers things for awhile and thought they finally worked somewhere:

The recipe card at 365 cards was: 4 x 4 card
Red Back Ground
Snowflakes, any kind, and amount
1 ribbon
Stamped Sentiment
and nothing else: OK so here is the thing, my snowflake stickers had the rhinestones on them (unlike Gloria's she added hers) and my sentiment in actuality is 1 sentiment I just broke it up, so unlike the Rebels in the 365 cards group, I did what I was told, honest, no lie, really I mean it.

At Sweet sketch Wed it was a sketch, hence sweet "sketch" Wed, dah I was excited to use one of my new HM stamps (thanks MOM i love them) so I thought I would work this little dude into the sketch, doesn't he just look so satisfied........lucky RAT!!!!!!! ;)

EDIT: opps I made a mistake, the first picture is a card from Amy from the 365 DT and not the original picture............just imagine a very pink cupcake and that is what the original picture was! wow is my face red.

Not the whole year of 365, just this week, don't get to excited. Yesterday at 365 cards the challenge was a picture inspired challenge, I had to use pink, because that is what jumped out at me, you should see Amy's cupcake, waaaay cute.

Today at 365 cards the challenge was "put a lid on it" Pam wanted us to have a hat on our card, this is one of my favorite stamps and luckily the little guy has a cap on, yea.

Man, oh man, I have had a few things going on but, I did get a chance to do 365 cards challenge for yesterday, Nov 11, the challenge was "Perfect Pair" Pam asked us to use buttons and Rick Rack on a card........I have seen this little snowman done in a MS magazine and I just had to try it, I was going to put the rick rack under him but I liked it down the side better, so you have one snowy card here, and at Crafty Creations Challenge the challenge was "snowy" so I did this snowflake one as well, just for fun.

I added the sticks to the snowman after I was done with the card, I wasn't pleased with no arms and I'm not sure I like it much better with, but it was a fun little card to make. I will get to my "picture this" challenge at 365 tomorrow, at least I know what I am going to do, :)

I'm back, at Friday Sketchers they had a really cool sketch so I had to try it, it is a little big, but I've had the big snowflake for a couple of years and it seemed the perfect time to use it(it came in holiday card from a vendor at my DH work) with the big snowflake they had in the sketch.

This is the first time I have done a Pink Elephant challenge and the challenge there was "thank you" this is pretty self exclamatory, I think.

At Allsorts this week the challenge was "Bring out your Bling" on this snowflake wreath I used rhinestones and glittery paper.

3 For 365 cards, this was hard.........

First off, disclaimer, I may not have done these exactly the way the challenge said, but they are in the ball park, sorta.

On Super Sketchy Sunday, Pam gave us a sketch, hence the name...whatever.. I wanted to do a card that was very simple and clean and use some of my BGray paper so I came up with this little guy, it is a size that will fit in a check eps so you could put some money in the card. That one pretty straight forward

On Monday, this is when things start to get dicey, the challenge was "I'm hung up" heck most of us were hung up on the challenge, sorry Pam, the card was to also be an ornament, well poooh!!!, I sorta ;) miss read it. I put something that could be used as an ornament on the outside, which can be removed and hung on the tree, so there, I don't have the fancy Cricut cutting machine thingy (Gloria not all of us have the big bucks) to make fancy ornament shapes with, so that is what I did, I love run on sentences they drive my friend Lisa crazy, hee!!! You can take the ribbon wreath off the card and hang it on the tree.

Finally we come to today, and again I kinda miss read this one challenge is "Lets patch things up" well Pam wanted us to put a patch on the card, oops, I put stockings with patches already on them on the card. Hey look, if these are soooo wrong Pam can just not put may name in for the drawing for Paper Popsicles, I totally understand.

Iwant to thank Rose and Gloria, for helping me work through (how to cheat 101) the rough parts :) !!!!!!!!! You taught me well Obiwan. I think they are coming out with a "how to" book soon.

Happy Friday at 365 card today the challenge was "dream duo" Pam asked us to use 2 of our favorite colours on a card, and try to stick to only shades of those 2 colours, this was sooo hard for me because I love all colours, some more than others, but I love them all, because it is fall I thought I'd go with my favorite fall combo yellow orange/orange and deep burgundy/brown, i don't care what you say those are colours, think napa valley in the fall, oh yummmmm. At a quilt show I went to recently I saw this wonderful quilt appliqued with leaves and skewed like a shadow a bit of black, well those leaves just floated off the quilt, I just loved it so I thought i would try that on a card, the effect is sooo fun, so I hope you like my "dream duo" I thought it was fun to experiment with a fun effect/affect (whatever). It is a simple card, and you may not be able to tell that it has 2 ribbons on it, brown and orange.

I did find a picture of the quilt, not a good picture, but I think you understand the idea.

I haven't had time to post in the last couple of days but I have been working on challenges, so lets get started:

Lets start with our hostess Pam's challenge at 365 cards, and the sketch from Sweet sketch Wed. at 365 the challenge was "feather" well I am wayyyy to literal so I had to use a feather it did take a bit to come up with this, but I think it is soooo funnny!

Next up Crafty Creations "pull out" and Paperblooms "blue, orange and white" and yes that is a teal blue colour.

Simon Says asked for a "Thank you" type card so I always do what Simon Says.

365 again, the 80's........you know this was very difficult if it weren't for Kristi and her suggestion of some movies of the 80's I just wouldn't have done well...as it is I didn't even like this movie, but I went with "Pretty in Pink". Pam don't forget some of us are old!!

At Sketch Girl, it was a sketch, dah, but this card also works for Flutterby Wed because it has a butterfly on it, yea! I am not real thrilled with this, but I tried.

We are almost done, I don't know about Pam at 365 cards it worries me when she gives us a challenge that I have to google, the challenge today was Mondrians what you say, look it up I say, i did. We didn't have to use this sketch by P. Mondrians but it was the easiest one I could find, the one totally cool thing about this is that at Cute Card Thurs, the challenge is Red, Blue, and Yellow, and I did notice that this P. Mondrians dude used a lot of primary colours, at least I got 2 challenges with one card out of it :)

Good evening, yuck I hate mondays I'm not sure why, maybe because I always feel like the party is over, bummer, any hoo suck it up and get on with it. I have 2 items to share that go with 3 different challenges, but first why is it that when I post a card, say the one with the wreath on Friday and then monday it also fits another challenge, rats, at least I made several wreaths while I was at it so ha, ha, ha. :) At 365 cards the challenge today was an ad inspired challenge, wouldn't you know there is that pesky wreath, well at CardPatterns they had the perfect little sketch for me to use my wreath on, thank you very much. Allsorts challenge, and hay wait a minute, I never knew, but was finally told that allsorts is a candy in England well you learn something new everyday at Allsorts challenge the theme was "weddings" ugh, oh all right I made this cute little box to be used as a favor holder at a wedding, I KNOW, you could put allsorts candy in there :).

Ok then yadayadayada I've got to go check the peeps blogs to see what wonderous things they have come up with, Oh yes, check out Gloria's blog she is the DT member for 365 cards, that did the ad inspired card..................go Gloria.

Well, lucky me I just spent 1 week of card making with my mom, thanks mom, we got a lot done and I was able to try some new things, for me, that I have been wanting to, so I will share some of them with you, as these ones do have to do with current challenges:

At 2S4U they had a great sketch, as usual, this week and I had been playing around with making a wreath out of punched leaves, so I thought this sketch would work well with a wreath.

At ABC challenge they are on G and G is for green, so I put together this little green number, with some beautiful Japanese papers.

At House Mouse Monday the challenge was " Aperture" what can I say Mouse + Swiss Cheese, it just had to be done, and at Allsorts the challenge there was "furry friends" I am not a fan of real mice but the stamped kind are just to cute not to love.

Cute Card Thursdays challenge was "Midnight Margaritas" and at 365 day 240 it was "pin up" day Pam wanted us to put a pin on our card, so I did. I hope the sentiment doesn't offend anyone, but I love this little napkin card.

Finally at 365 cards days 243 Beautiful Bouquet......and Day 242 Seven different ribbons, on the ribbon wreath I got that idea from a card made by Kristi a few months ago, I just thought it was great, thanks Kristi.

Thanks to the people that gave me advice on what to bring, I still had a car full, yikes, but so far there are only a couple of things I wish I had, although I am doing fine without them, sorta. I had to play at 365 today because the challenge was "put it on the list" , now I haven't looked at any blogs yet because I just know someone else thought of the same list, but I didn't see it, promise I came up with this all alone, really I swear I did. I did have to think about the names on the list.....yes it is you Gloria, Pam, and Rose....he he!!!!

What do you think? I won't be back until Sunday but I am making cards like crazy, so I am having a blast.

Many challenges so little time..........

Wow! this is great I am soooo getting my Halloween cards done with all the challenges that are calling for them, fun stuff, and as usual lets get started with 365 cards, Pam asked us today to use Paisley on our cards, so I got out my Cuttlebug and the paisley folder to make the GB for this little card. At Simon Says the challenge was Get Well I say if Simon Says it, you better do it, this HM stamp to me makes the best little get well card, isn't he cute, on the same card I used the sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday, I really like the sketches that they come up with, and last but not least at House Mouse Monday the challenge was to use a movie title as your inspiration, with all the talk of the seasonal flu, Swine flu etc. I thought I would go with the move "outbreak"....Oh come on that is funny!! really it is.

On to the Halloween Card, for today, at One Powerful Hour I was happy to see that the challenge was, you guessed it "spooky" so far I haven't seen a truly spooky card posted so far, but I thought these bats might make you duck.

OK here is the question: if you were going a way for 1 full week of card making what would you take, or how would you break it down, so you have what you need, but don't have to haul out ALL your craft stuff, just a question? let me know what you think, or if you have done this before and how you did it without looking ridiculous to the other participants :)

I did a couple of more cards today, and it makes me so happy, ha. first off Pam at 365 cards came up with another of her "Wacky colour Wednesday" challenges, she wants us to use Brown, Red and Purple together, lucky me I like fall colours so those colours work OK for me, on my monitor I can't see that the punched border strips are purple but they are, and the ribbon is brown, I need my own computer stuff new, fancy, fast, bigger monitor, oh yea back to the cards.

The next card is for the challenges at Crafty Creations "spooky" and Haunted Design House use the colours green, purple, black and something round and shiny, I made the spiders butt round and shiny, just like mine :). If you love Halloween and want to play with your Halloween crafty stuff you should check out Haunted Design House it is Halloween 365 days of the year, and you might get a kick out of it. Wow, I have been sooo bad in keeping up with challenges, and I love it so much, but it seems as though my creativity is playing hard to get, drat! I did come up with a couple cards 1 was from a class I took, and the other is a sad little attempt on my part........and I am not asking for sympathy, I think, I hope :) we all go through this, but on to what you came here for, thanks by the way.

At Crafty Cardmakers the challenge was "Autumn" this is my favorite colour time of the year, if that makes any sense (I love the colours) so I put some of them together with a pumpkin stamp, not thrilled but it will do, it also goes with the 365 challenge that is a "trio challenge" Pam wanted us to use a Pearl (it is there but it is brown and hard to see, in fact I put on 2) a tag (it says thank you, in brown embossing powder) and a ribbon, I know you can see that.

This little blue bird card was made for the challenge at Crafty Creations who's challenge was "Blue" I took a class and learned how to make this little guy so I just had to use him, way to cute.

So now you have it, my cards for the day.

One thing, I want to thank all the people that host challenge blogs, along with the DT, I am sure it takes many hours and a lot of effort, so we can have fun, and share our cards with each other, and it is fun :) Any way have a great day and thanks for popping by.

OK it has been awhile but unfortunately I do have a life outside of blog challenge land, but I have been working on some cards, just not exactly for challenges, any hoo, here goes.

At Allsorts challenge, and Cute Card Thursday the challenges were to do a spooky/Halloween card, I believe either of these would work, but you gotta love the mouse, thanks Mom. The HM card is based on this weeks Mojo Monday sketch, and the witch card is also for day 227 at 365 cards the challenge there was "In Motion" to me the witch looks like she is flying high and fast. Also this card works for ABC Challenge F is for flying. That is a lot of challenges yippppeee!

Now I must publish this and come look in on the people that I stalk to see what they have been up to.

Do you think that is enough exclamation points? Ha! It is another day another challenge, lets start with 365 cards (bet you didn't see that coming) the challenge today was "5 things" you can put only 5 things on your card: 1 stamped image, 2 papers, 2 leaves, I hope I wasn't supposed to count the stamped image on paper as 2 things, Oh well it is done now.

Next is the Crafty Creations challenge "All shades of pale" I think I went pale but then in the camera it looked a little bright, but that is as pale as I get, I do love my saturated colour.

At Sweet Sketch Wed. it was a sweet sketch, but my copier didn't really show that I was to have a paper behind the square focus paper, please forgive me, I am not doing so well today with understanding the rules, as they say "whatever".
I had fun seeing what this image would look like lightly shaded and on Kraft paper with sepia toned ink, I think both ways look good, what do you think?

At Cute Card Thursday the challenge was "charm" to use a charm on you card, well as you know I have used this stamped image before but this time I added that cute little cocktail charm to the card, it wasn't real obvious in the picture so I got a close up of it. I think that is it for today, and again than you so much for your kind words and stopping by. :)

Good afternoon today at 365 Cards the challenge was "denim" I have used this denim BG paper before with a quilt block but I did make a new one, I couldn't resist using the orangish colour, because when I think of "Denim" I think Levi's and the little orangy tag, so I couldn't resist, and with fall in the air "hey" lets throw in a couple of leaves so now you know the story of this little card.

At Paper Blooms the challenge was "Monochromatic" I hope the little bit of beige and gold aren't throwing the monochromatic off but the card really needed it, I did put a bit of stickles on the pine boughs so in person it has a bit of a twinkle.

At Simon Says the challenge was "Halloween Card" I love this little witchy poo she is sooo cute, but one of the fun things about the card just will not photograph, I tried different angles and everything so I'll tell you the BG is embossed with the spiderweb folder from cuttlebug, I did try to enhance it with a little rub on gold but it still won't show up, dang, you'll just have to take my word that it is darn cute.

Last but not least is the challenge at One Powerful Hour the challenge is "skinny" well I don't even want to talk about that, boo hoo, but I did make this cute little bookmark.

It is already Tuesday of a new week, wow, I've been lucky to have a fun morning making a couple of cards, so let me start, as usual with 365 cards today the challenge was to use x-stitch on your card, I thought about it and remembered I had this little tree x-stitch that wouldn't take to long to do, so I had fun with that and my CB making circles to put around the x-tree, this card is also good for the challenge at All Sorts, Kraft was there challenge, and at Scrappy Frogs the challenge was Trees, it is a funny little tree but it is a tree, and I think it is cute.

My autumn card is for the challenge at 2S4U, is was Laura's week and she came up with a real pretty sketch, this also works for the challenge at Craft Creations, autumn/leaves, and the challenges at Crafty Card Makers who's challenge was, Ribbons and Fibers, I put 2 ribbons together for this card.

Well, I am behind, still but I do have a few cards here, it could be another of those long posts, so hang on. As usual the first challenge is from 365 cards, challenge 214 was called "white space" Pam asked us to use this picture and only decorate in the dark areas, so here is the thing, does white mean WHITE or does it mean empty, well I took it, this time, to mean empty and I used green paper Big Mistake white would have looked better but now I have a good idea, I think.

Next up is Simon Says and the challenge there was a colour combo challenge and the combo was green and red so I did the little "poinsettia" number with green leaves, this card also can be used for the ABC challenge which is E is for embossing. Last but not least is Sweet Sketch Wednesday, we used this sketch as an inspiration and I came up with this "imagine" card I mean really, ice cream and shoes yummmm!!!! So that is it for today thank you all who comment and visit it is mucho appreciated.

Today I had fun playing at 5 different challenges, with 2 cards, wow that is a first for me, first off at 365 cards the challenge was to have fringe on at least 2 sides of your card, I really like this paper fringe that I found and I thought that all went together with the Cute Card Thursday colour combo challenge of Black and Yellow, at the same time I put stitching on the card for Simon Says Challenge so this one card covers 3 challenges, yea me!!!

Next I tackled the House Mouse challenge, to use buttons, and the All Sorts Challenge to have an autumn inspired card, I think these cute little guys on their leaf ride scream fall, so that is that and this is the end of a beautiful Monday, have a great evening.

At 365 cards today the challenge is "once upon a time" , get it, use a fairy tale as your inspiration for a card, at this age I can't remember any fairy tale and by now I know that they in no way come true........So I love frogs and I had this cute little frog stamp, and so there you have it, maybe it is more of a fantasy? I don't know but it sounds like a fairy tale to me, or sci-fi.

I bet you are going to be humming a Christmas song real quick: Once a month Cristmas Cards All year has a Christmas card challenge, I have done it before, but not for awhile. For the month of Sept. the challenge was to make any kind or style of Christmas card........soooooo I love this little snowman and thought he would be perfecto to do and then of course I had to have Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow, on MS tag punches, 'cause if it don't snow he gonna melt. At CCAYR if you do 5 cards your name goes into a drawing for a RAK, and you get your Christmas cards done earlier........in fact.......don't hate me........mine are done, yippppeeeeee!!!!!!!!!

So now I can just let it snow, let it snow, let it snow. :)

Maybe Mosaic

Good Monday to all, I know, I know, how good could a Monday be, anyway at 365 cards today the challenge was to make a mosaic, now I did do that, but it isn't a traditional styles mosaic...you know little squares on top of little squares, but this is my mosaic interpretation. I picked up a art studio advertisement a few months back and I just loved the picture of the giraffe so I thought it would be fun to cut him up and put him back together, but just a little off, rather like a Monday. Anyway i hope it tickles your fancy, and that you all have a great day.

At 365 cards the challenge today is "just a touch" stamp an image in black on white paper and then just use a touch of colour, wellllllll I may have added to much colour in the aging, but I did the best I could, I did keep the overall colour down.

At ABC challenge they are back to the letter D and D is for "die cuts" I used a punch for the ribbon affect, and for the leaves, the flowers are also punches that have been rolled up, it is hard to see them, they were dark purple, but in the picture they look black.

Oh my goodness, today's challenge at 365 cards is "label it" use a label on your card, now that sounds easy, right, instantly I thought what else I'll use a wine label, good idea. Now my DH is in charge of our basement tasting room wine I crept down the stairs thinking I bet we have a label that is off a bottle somewhere, NO, ok what if I took one off a bottle? you really know you shouldn't .....after much angst and thinking I found a bag from a winery that had one of there labels on it , ah ha, that sounded safe. I know long story, back to the card in my opinion wine labels are usually so pretty on there own that I didn't want to do to much to it so as you can see I went very minimal with the card, sweet and simple was my motto........damn no glitter :)

Oh by the by, Stryker is a great winery, in the beautiful Alexander Valley.

Ad Inspiration

Wow, at 365 cards today the challenge is an ad inspired challenge and the ad the Kri sti chose to use as inspiration is just stunning, so much so for me that is was hard not to try and put all the elements that I saw in it. I LOVE the fabric shoes and wanted to find a paper that had that feel but nothing had the elegance to match the shoes, I did use another dufex sticker that has some shimmer like the water in the photo, and I used an opalescent white flourish to give the "feel" of the porcelain tea pot, what ever it was fun. The reason i am soooooo late today is that I scared the sh(*%# out of my entry way floor, I got down on hands and knees and mopped it, I can't remember the last time I did that, :) it is rather nice to walk on now, no wonder my feet are always dirty :) oops! Have a great day as we slide toward the weekend, and a 3 day weekend at that, at least for those of us in the US, hee..hee.

No I am fine, the challenge at 365 cards was to use 3 shades of blue I do love blue, although there isn't a colour I really don't like, but I did have a few sheets of blue paper :). It is hard to see but the stars are a dark blue, with gray shiny blue "stitching" on them, so there is dark blue all the way to blue green....I think that about covers it....Have a great day and thanks for stopping by, I really appreciate it.

OK, I haven't done a challenge for a bit, but here we go, and yes I am behind.

At 365 card, yesterday it was Super sketch Sunday, and I did the card yesterday, but DH had the camera alllll weekend, oh well I had other things to do. This card also is for the challenge at Allsorts challenge the challenge there was "no stamped images", done.

I did the Sketch Saturday challenge this is the 1st time I have done this challenge and it was fun, I started with a stamp I have been wanting to use and I think this will make a great holiday card for my "catty" friends.

Wow, this week is flying by, but I finally got a card done, and it is a 3fer, meaning it is relevant for 3 challenges, dah.

At 365 cards the challenge was to use a checkerboard background, not gingham, but checkerboard, OK, I did that, in fact it was rather fun.

At Crafty Cardmakers the challenge was to use complimentary colours, so I chose purple and yellow, next to Blue and yellow it is a favorite, this is Crafty Cardmakers 2nd challenge, they are new so you might want to check them out.

At Scrappy Frogs the challenge was piecing.......well really I did piece that there background, so I think that counts.

Wow, it is late for this today, I'm late, I'm late for a very important "Challenge"? OK, yea I loved this one a 365 cards the challenge was "make Peach the dominate colour on your card", so I have used varying shades of Peach from light to dark, and rubbed peach colouring on the sides as well as a walnut stain. I bought a whole poster size sheet of these beautiful flowers, I just think they are soooo yummy it is hard to mess with them, but I did, I distressed the edges and hit them with a peach and walnut stain, the saying in the corner is stamped onto Lutrador a cool product sold at C&T publishing, you can do a number of things to it, on this I used distressing ink, then stamped the sentiment and then scorched the edges with my heat gun. I love the way it came out looking like old parchment with a few holes in it, as you heat it you get nifty cool pattern in the lutrador, I did control it a bit (I'm known for that) by holding some card stock over areas I didn't want to singe or get holes, any hows I thought it was fun. It is REAL cool if you are into mixed media types of things.........I know, enough advertising for today. I am soooo excited I got to use one of my flower prints.......they are just way to yummy. I am, also using this card for the Challenge blog One Powerful Hour it is another fun challenge blog with a little bit of a twist, what you say, your card should be done in an hour....shhhh, I have it on good authority that that dosen't happen all the time, by even the host, but don't tell :).........the challenge there this week issssss, wait for it.......flowers.

I think, Pam the host of 365 cards, is visiting her dark side she is having too much pleasure stumping us with her challenges, I think because it is her blogaversary she has let it go to her head........but go check out her blog anyway :), if you don't there is NO telling what she will challenge us with tomorrow. :) The challenge at 365 cards is: incorporate 3 ways to create a sentiment to make 1 big sentiment, well I gave it a shot and this is what I came up with, a little U that is on a fabric tab, stamped Sew, and computer generated Girl, so I think that is what she wants, we will see.

This card also works for Lilly of the Valley challenge, "charming" use a charm on card, cute little scissors , know? and for ABC challenge, B is for buttons. I have been wanting to use this sewing machine sticker for a while and this just seamed (get it) like the right time.

Yes I know there are 2 pictures of the same thing...one is small and the other isn't...I still don't know how to delete a picture I don't want in my post, argh! People keep telling me how but it isn't sinking in, oh well at least it is small. Have a great rest of the day, and don't forget to create something new everyday. :)

Yeaaaaaaaa!! I finished the card for today at 365 card, and I did the sketch challenge at sweet sketch Wednesday, sketch 11, it is the 1st time I've joined the challenge at SSW. The challenge at 365 cards was to make a card using the letter, and at least 1 number, and they need to be stickers, but if we didn't have stickers and had individual stamps we could do that. This was a little hard for me because I only have 3 sets of letter/number stickers, in blue and pink, both glitters, and then in a real boring off white, so I decided I'd use the blue, and try not to make it look as thought it were for a baby, so I got out one of my trusty HM stamps and used that, yea, my colouring came out pretty poor but for now it is done, I can always redo it, I included a close up of the butterflies so you could see the U R and 2.

Triangle....Sticker........button......OH MY!!!!

Day 171 at 365 card, can you believe it, wow, time goes toooo fast. Today the challenge at 365 cards is Tuesday Trio, Pam has challenged us to use triangle, button, and sticker on our card, yes I know the button is obvious, and the sticker is a Dufex sticker, they are super cool stickers that look holographic (probably why it didn't photograph real well), and now you are wondering about that triangle, welllllllll if you look in the top left corner there is a stamped flower flourish that is in the shape of a triangle.........really it is...... I wonder am I joining Rose and Gloria on the Dark side.....no, no, no, really it is a triangle (clears throat) sorta, ..........yea it is.

I really wish this had photographed better because the sticker is so pretty with bachelor buttons, and a rich gold back ground, any way their it is, simple but sweet.

Double Duty??

Good morning, today at 365 cards, Pam has an interesting challenge "make a card that double as something else, but not a money or gift card holder" I think this works, it is a card that holds a bookmark.....I know the bookmark is BIG but I love that sentiment stamp.......so there!! It is going to be fun seeing what everyone has come up with.

365 Cards........."Gift Card"

This was rather fun, at 365 cards, Pam, challenged us to make a card that looks like a wrapped present. Sophie from the DT did this great simple, beautiful wrapped "gift" card, and it was hard to do something different, because that was so good, but I came up with these 2 cards, if fact they are real similar to the way I really do wrap a gift, sometimes, and these will really have to be given direct or put in a little box to send. Shape up? OK Pam, I got your shape right here. At 365 cards the challenge today is "shape" STAR, make that the dominate theme on your card. The paper pieced quilt block is a star and the 3 little stars in the corner, in place of a bow, fill the bill, I do believe, I have several quilt blocks pieced in paper and it was fun to get one out and put it on a card they are fun to have around to give to fellow quilters.

Today at Simon Says the challenge is "anything but a card" I love embellished journals so this was fun to do, for that challenge.

The ABC challenge was Anything goes, but it would be nice if an Animal were on it, yes they are back to the letter A, get it. I love the HM so that is my animal for the day, and I don't think I've been bombarding the blog with HM cards, but trust me I could.

Crafty Creations challenge was Yellow, use lots of yellow, i didn't use a lot but it is the only colour on the card......isn't that butterfly adorable, Yuriko at Mainly Stampin' in Fairfield taught us that in a class, and yes that is a heart punch, she is sooooooo clever and talented.

Don't forget it is Art Glitter week at 365 cards, I didn't use any glitter on the cards today, but my eyes are sparkling :) because I was cleaning up the glitter I used yesterday, hah.

I LOVE my prismacolor pencils..................

I think I should just get a colour book and sit down and colour, I LOVE colouring with my prismacolor pencils....and the blender pencil...love it. Ok enough drooling, slurp! at 365 cards the challenge today was a colour challenge, Pam asked us to use these colours in my eye they are fall colours so I got out my trusty leaf stamp, love this stamp, it is hard to see but the ribbon has red, burgundy, and a fall russetish colour stacked on top each other, the blue flourish was just for fun, and reminds me of beautiful leaves falling on a clear stream, ahhhhh. I realized after I took the picture that the colouring on the leaves needed to be blended a little more, I'll have to work on that, inside they looked great, trust me. Because it is art glitter week at 365 cards, kiss up that I am, I added a little of their ultra fine glitter on a few veins of the leaves.

I tried a "vintage" card for the allsorts challenge I have had this Christmas card around waiting to recycle the image, so I thought I would use that, it lacks pizazz, but I couldn't figure out what to do about that (glitter?) so this is what I have.

Last but not least, for today, I did Laura's sketch #32, at 2S4Y .I recently bought the new rustique stack from DCWV and I had to use it the colours are so warm and yummy unfortunately I love the papers but I am not in love with the card, I will have to work on it.

For this week don't forget, if it don't glitter, it ain't done.

Welcome to Monday my fellow fanatics. I just spent a LONNNNNNG time with a new technique......Masking..........Pam at 365 cards gave that to us as a challenge, the last time I tried it I had NO success, but this time not to bad, Pam gave us the link to a tutorial on masking and this time it clicked for me, but I wasn't able to put together the best images to mask, but I learned some fun stuff. It is ART GLITTER week at 365 cards so of course I had to sprinkle some on to make that little flower "pop" a little better, I was thinking about cutting out the center of the flower and popping it up, but the glitter gave it that little oooomph! that it needed. Like I say "it ain't finished till it sparkles".

SPARKLE ON!! and don't forget to check out the art glitter website, then you can sparkle in more colours than you thought you could :)

Cool Collage.............tooooooooo hard!!!!!!!!

I am soooo terrible at this, at 365 cards the challenge today was "cool collage", the goal was to not leave any white space on your card. OK, here is the thing, anyone that knows me, knows the fact that I am not "cool" and doing collage is the hardest thing for me to do, ugh!!! But I did give it a try, I layered my items on top of a piece of music, and tried for that "cool collage" look. My husband has asked me to make some thank you cards for him, that aren't fluffy, so I think he might like this for his box of cards to send. The picture turned out a wee bit dark, and the note above the piano has crackle glaze on it that isn't dry yet, so it is still shiny.

Today at 365 cards the challenge was a sunflower inspired card, I have done this punch flower before but as a poinsetta, and I've been wanting to use it as a sunflower, so this sounded like the perfect time. I used the sketch from Mojo Monday, because I thought these went together well. You can find the tutorial for the sunflower at SCS, I think you will find it a lot of fun, it looks tedious but really isn't. I hope you like this, i get a kick out of making the little tag punch flowers, and it uses up paper, so I can buy some more, like that was a problem :) Ann Cox is the guest designer at 365 cards today and you should check out her blog, she has a fan folded flower on her card, which looks like fun, too.

I hope your weekend was fantastic, as far as challenges go I didn't do many this weekend, but today I have started out with one, at 365 cards the challenge was "Ad Inspired", which was presented by the lovely Gloria. I love the ad colours and used those as an inspiration, I know that is what I was supposed to do, dahhhh!!!, I added the skeletanized leaves to help with the vegative feel of the baskets, and I just love the dark green of the table, anyway this is what the ad inspired in my, I know it is dark and twisty, but I like it like that.

Today at 365 cards is the last day of Reader Appreciation week, and the spotlight is on Michelle, who has always been a real source of inspiration to me, so if you have time check out her blog I know you will be inspired, also. Sooooo on to the challenge, the challenge was to use a plane, train, or automobile on your card...modes of transportation, I didn't have a lot of time but I did come up with this, i was also trying to sponge on some clouds but that is a little weak, and the picture did turn out dark. it cracks me up that the planes look like fighter planes instead of a passenger airliner, whatever.
